Depending on the program you use for image editing, you may not be able to change the program you use to edit a color correction transform. If you edit a color correction transform and then export it to Photoshop, the color correction transform is saved in a format that can be read by Photoshop only, and the color correction transform cannot be used in other programs.

At the time of this writing, Photoshop has many more advanced features available, including the ability to create filters and create 3D content, and so it is more valuable as an industry standard tool for editing large numbers of images.

Creating and editing images

Figure 5-3 shows an example of an image before and after a color correction transform was applied.

Figure 5-3: The image on the left was shot in the natural light. The image on the right has been color corrected to reds.

Reduces exposure: Notice how darker the shadows and some fine details on the image on the left were. This is due to overexposure of the image. When you apply the following steps to a RAW file, the image is greatly improved.

1. **Open the image in Photoshop.**

You can select it in Bridge or find it in the files on your computer.

2. **Create a new Smart Object and then deselect the Vignette option.**

By deselecting the Vignette option, the adjustments are applied directly to the Smart Object.

3. **Click the Curves adjustment tool, which is located on the right side of the edit menu bar.**

This tool is a perfect example of a mistake many newcomers to Photoshop make, thinking it’s the Vibrance/Saturation tool. It is not a replacement for the Vibrance/Saturation tool because it applies adjustments to the image’s RGB colors.

4. **Click the Arrow button at the bottom of the Curves dialog box, as shown in** **Figure** **5-4** **.**

The dialog box shows you an adjustment curve of the selected colors for your image. In this example, the reds and yellows are being adjusted.

5. **Drag the line graph to the right to see a graph with the values on the Y axis and the color value of the color you’re adjusting on the

Here we’ll get familiar with how to perform the most common editing tasks on digital images in Elements, along with all of the features you’ll need to create something amazing with your photos.

GIMP:

Gimp is an open source (free) alternative to Photoshop and is available for Linux, Windows, OS X, and other platforms.

There are several great tutorials out there on using Gimp for photography including this and this.

With all of its power, Gimp can also be daunting for new users. It has many powerful features that require some basic understanding of the program and it can take a little bit of practice to master.

Why you need to learn Photoshop?

Photoshop is the industry standard for editing digital photos. It’s a powerhouse with some advanced features and it won’t take you years to learn them.

The entire point of this article is to show you how to use a photo editor to create unique imagery that you couldn’t achieve using just Photoshop alone.

An example would be an image that was ripped from a magazine or a bank sign that has an image of someone’s face on it. You’d need to edit the photo’s details to make it look natural and attainable.

So what are the basic things you need to know about editing an image in Photoshop?

How to set up your workspace

Before you jump in and start editing photos, there are some things you need to know about how to use Photoshop.

Most importantly, you need to know where to find your tools.

To do this you’ll need to go into preferences and access your workspace settings.

You can set up Photoshop to always look at different folders for your images. For example, you can choose to always look at your Documents folder, your Pictures folder, or your Desktop.

The option that is most ideal for us photographers is that your workspace will look at your Pictures folder.

You’ll notice that it gives you a preview

Q:

How to calculate Gaussian derivative?

How would one calculate the Gaussian derivative (given by $f(x) = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2 \pi}}e^{ -x^2/2}$). The first derivate would be
$f'(x)= \frac{1}{\sqrt{2 \pi}}e^{ -x^2/2}(-2x)$
but then how do I go on?

A:

Hint: I don’t know of any standard name for what you’re asking. But you can begin with
$$\lim_{h \to 0} \frac{e^{ -h^2/2}-1}{h}.$$
Then simplify as you like.

Q:

Proof that if $\mathbb{R}$ is a topological vector space, then $\overline{\{0\}}$ is closed

I have proven that if $\mathbb{R}$ is a topological vector space, $\mathbb{R}$ is Hausdorff, and $S \subseteq \mathbb{R}$ is any subset, then $\overline{S}$ is closed. Now I’m working on proving the corollary that $\overline{\{0\}}$ is closed. I tried the following:
$\{0\}$ being closed in $\mathbb{R}$ means that
$$\overline{(\mathbb{R} \backslash \{0\})} = \overline{(\mathbb{R} \backslash (\{0\}))} = \overline{\mathbb{R} \backslash (\{0\})}$$
As $\mathbb{R} \backslash \{0\}$ is closed by the previous theorem, the result follows. However, I’m wondering if this is a valid line of reasoning. I feel it might be, but I’m wondering if there’s a more elegant solution. Thanks for any help!

A:

Your line of reasoning is fine. You might be tempted to write it as

\overline{(\mathbb{R}\setminus\{0\})}=\overline{\mathbb{R}\setminus\{0\}}

Q:

TypeError: Cannot read property’status’ of null

In ReactJS, I’m using this code for loading data from a REST API.
class Blog extends React.Component{
getStatus(event) {
return this.props.getBlogStatus(event.queryParams.blogID);
}

componentDidMount(){
fetch(”+this.props.blogID,
{
method: ‘GET’,
‘Content-Type’: ‘application/json’
},
}).then(response => response.json())
.then(status => this.setState({status}))
}
render(){
return (

Status is: {this.getStatus()}

);
}
}

However, I’m getting an error, saying TypeError: Cannot read property’status’ of null
What’s the reason for this?

A:

The code you have posted is not the complete component, please re-read the code or use npm link to link to the updated code if you have it.
The complete code is:
class Blog extends React.Component{
state = {
status: null
}

getStatus(event) {
