Instead of the normal setting of the DMC’s all taking place in this world, we get to take a step into it with the introduction of not only Dante’s world, but that of Vergil. I must say, that after enjoying the two DMC games, I was very impressed with the new title. It is a much-improved version of the series. The game takes place in between the two dimensions, the Plane of Dreams and the Plane of Reality. It still maintains the darker tone of the DMC games, however, there are a lot of bright things in it as well. One of the main aspects that sets this game apart from the older titles is that of the camera angle.

I had to wonder why they released it on E3 in all three of its new gamei boards. It’s almost entirely a serious game, even the expansion content involves quite a bit of actual adventure-editing, and there’s no mention of the atmospheric track about the world they have modeled that I had heard about but had not heard anything else about since, although no doubt they themselves don’t even know it exists? I’m not saying that this is a bad thing at all and I’ve no intention of being argumentative about this, but one of the things I’ve felt about E3 every time I go and play a noob game is that it’s typically an over-promised, over-hyped, over-rated, over-the-top all-singing-and-dancing bewitched performance that’s strangely more like a gala event than a proper focus of attention, but that’s a topic for another time.
But this time it had just enough crossover from the worlds of the expansion to the original game to give it a reason to exist if you didn’t have it already, but not enough to drag it into a vapid parade of horribles. I’m all for a trashy new world that’s a real work of art in all its over-the-top faults, and I’m all for an RPG that’s all about being good at combat and all that. Heck, maybe just put on whatever orchestral extravaganza the people in charge of the E3 show have concocted as your “HEY LOOK! HERE’S NEW CONTENT! AND IT’S ALSO A NEW ERA IN RPGING! YEAH YEAAAHHHHH” music will make all the difference. Just make sure it’s as nice-sounding as Gornjak and Thorn gets it.

This study will be designed to analyze the production of human interleukin-12 in sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) from patients with active, intrathoracic tuberculosis and from patients with inactive, extrathoracic tuberculosis. If the hypothesis is correct, primary human monocytes will be examined for either a defect in production of interleukin-12 or blockade of the activity of interferon-gamma. Since monocyte-derived macrophages have been shown to be important as effectors in clearing mycobacteria in vitro and in vivo, it is proposed that the production of interleukin-12 by monocytes and macrophages in the face of active interferon-gamma will be deficient in those HIV+ individuals showing active tuberculosis. Support for this hypothesis comes from a model of murine macrophage hyperplasia.
