Let’s not beat around the bush here, it’s what is usually referred to as a footnote. This is a half-product. It’s the XBOX 360 version of the model, or at least, the version that is fully converted and ready for use. I have no idea whether or not the Reality Expansion Pack for Bonanza F33A (XP10) is also a half-product.
The Reality Expansion Pack (XP10) for Captain Sim Boeing 707-300 VC-137 Expansion (RIP) (and yes, it’s spelled correctly, BTW) includes a whopping 47 aircraft in detail, including 48 cockpits, 8 brand new CG positions, 11 airports and 3 gravel airfields. All the available cars, including the US Airways Boeing 757, the KAL Boeing 767, the BOAC Boeing 757, the TDI 757 and the Airbus A300, the B737-300, the B737-200, the B767-400, the 747-400, the Boeing 767-300ER, the 737-200, the 747-200, the 767-200, and the 747-200, even the 777-200 and the C-17A. All of them are either stock or tweaked by the Reality Expansion Pack (XP10) crew. I haven’t even mentioned all of the full weight models, or the DC10/10A, the DC9-50/60/80 and the Comet.
I can’t really comment on the load out for the 707 VC-137. I haven’t played with it myself. Some of it may be temporary, as Captain Sim’s crew is preparing to release the 707 VC-137 Expansion (RIP) as a stand-alone product, with their own route, so they will have a fully loaded weight model, and perhaps a bigger crew (along the lines of the DC9-80…).
As for the visual side, Captain Sim has done a good job. The models are rendered a bit differently than the X-Plane models, but the effects aren’t particularly noticeable. The textures are ok, as long as you don’t get too anal. The uglies are completely different, and a bit disconcerting. At least, they haven’t changed the Sperry winch pin, so you can fly this plane with the original pin for the autopilot, or the later ones. The results, however, are close enough that it isn’t a big deal, and a lot of the time, the textures aren’t even visible with the default AA value turned up to really high. If you enable textures you can see them, but it is a bit of an issue.
